Initial Enquiry
Contact us for an informal, no-pressure conversation. We’ll answer your questions and help you explore whether fostering is right for you.

Home Visit
If you’d like to move forward, we’ll arrange a visit to your home. This gives us a chance to get to know you and for you to learn more about the process.

Assessment and Training
You’ll be assigned a social worker who will help you complete your assessment. This includes background checks, references and training sessions to help you prepare for the role.

Panel and Approval
Once your assessment is complete, your application goes to an independent fostering panel. If approved by our agency decision-maker, you’ll officially become a foster carer with Oakwood Fostering.
